Mission & Outreach:
‘The mission of the Community Church of Hudson is to bring God’s Love to Life.’

Christians have the responsibility to act on their faith and to share God’s love through their everyday lives. Therefore our church seeks to empower our members to do just that through our Love to Life Outreach. Through Love to Life we strive to enable our people to use their unique, God-given gifts and talents to meet the needs of people around them, and in so doing bring God’s love to life! Twice each year, Hudson Helping Hands Day, a day of free house cleaning and yard work, is offered to the elderly and others within our community. Work days are frequently scheduled at Northeast Iowa Food Bank in Waterloo so that our gifts can be utilized, and recent mission trips have included sending persons to work in Dubuque and Des Moines. A food offering on the first Sunday of each month also supports our own community Food Pantry and allows our church to distribute holiday food baskets to families in the Hudson area. Our annual Project PENCILS helps children in Hudson have the needed school supplies to begin school each August, and our Keep Hudson Clean Day mobilizes the community each Spring for a litter clean-up event.

Each Monday at the Hudson Community Center our church sponsors Senior Citizen activities including shuffleboard, games, and educational/inspirational programs.

Every Sunday our church family meets in worship to give thanks for God’s goodness. Through music, prayer, the reading and explaining of Scripture, and the celebration of the Sacraments, we offer our thanks to God and receive grace from God to go about our daily lives.

Text Box: Worship at the Community Church seeks to blend both traditional and contemporary styles in an effort to meet the needs of a variety of ages. Each week a Children’s Sermon is given, so that children can learn the riches of God’s Word in ways that they can easily understand. (Child care is provided for children under 5.)

Text Box: “Worship the Lord with gladness, come into God’s presence with singing” Psalm 100:2 Most Sundays music is offered by our adult Chapel Choir, and our Children’s Choir sings twice a month. Our Praise Band leads worship one Sunday a month as our worship takes on a more contemporary flavor.

Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month and on holidays. Communion is open to all Christians.
